  Fetch List

Thanks to our partnership with Hills Science Diet, DRHS receives all of our dry dog and cat food absolutely free of charge. But food is only one of many supplies we need to care for the over 5,000 animals we see every year! If you'd like to make a gift to DRHS, please consider one (or more) of the following:

Cash Donations - Tax deductible, and last year $0.87 of every dollar donated went directly to animal care and community outreach programming. Click "Give Now" to make your gift using our secure site.

Non-Clumping Clay Kitty Litter - As you can imagine, we go through a lot of it!

Bleach - Bleach is the only household cleaner capable of killing canine parvovirus that is also non-toxic to animals. We use 3 gallons of bleach every day!

Canned Kitten Food - Small kitties and pregnant or nursing cats need wet cat food. The "patte" type is prefered by the kittens. Thanks to Bryant School's annual cat food drive, we're supplied with about 10 months worth of wet cat food every year. That still leaves 2 months of food to gather, and we appreciate your help!

Copy Paper (White 8.5 x 11) - Adoptions require contracts. We adopted out over 2,900 animals last year, and paper is always needed.

Garbage Bags - Caring for 300 animals at any one time generates a lot of waste, which needs to be cleaned up after. We're proud to be good stewards of the environment by disposing of waste properly.

Gift Cards - Sometimes things don't go as planned. Having gift cards on hand means we can handle any unforseen event without having to break the budget. Whether it goes toward a new lock on a door or a case of bleach to hold us over until the next delivery, gift cards are greatly appreciated.

Antibacterial Hand Soap - Animals get sick, too. Proper handwashing with antibacterial soap helps us stop the spread of colds and illness from one animal to the next.

Latex Gloves - Much the same as in a hospital, veterinarians and staff use latex gloves to prevent contagious conditions from spreading. Staff changes gloves in between caring for individual animals, meaning we go through as many pairs in a day as we have animals to care for.

Paper Towels - Puppies and kitties have accidents, and sometimes scared adult dogs do, too. Mix in our regularly scheduled cleaning, and it adds up to about 60 rolls of paper towels a week!
